Matthew 24:12: "And the love (of) the majority will-grow-cold because-of lawlessness being-multiplied."
1st century imminence?
Jesus said to His 1st century disciples: "the love (of) the majority will-grow-cold because-of lawlessness being-multiplied" (Matthew 24:12).
Jesus then said several verses later to His 1st century disciples: "So also YOU, when YOU-see all these (things), YOU know that it-is near, at (the) doors. Truly I-say (to) YOU that THIS GENERATION BY-NO-MEANS WILL-PASS-AWAY UNTIL ALL THESE (THINGS) TAKE-PLACE" (Matthew 24:33-34).
Love of the majority will grow cold?
Jesus said in Matthew 24:12: "the LOVE (of) the MAJORITY WILL-GROW-COLD".
Later in the 1st century, Jesus said in Revelation to "the church in Ephesus" (Revelation 2:1): "I-have against you that YOU-LEFT your first LOVE" (Revelation 2:4).
Among the seven churches that Jesus addressed in Revelation, Jesus said to the MAJORITY of them (five churches) to "REPENT" (Revelation 2:5, Revelation 2:16, Revelation 2:22, Revelation 3:3, Revelation 3:19).
There are also similarities between Matthew 24 & Revelation 2-3.
Lawlessness being multiplied?
It is written in Matthew 24:12 about "LAWLESSNESS being-multiplied".
Later in the 1st century, when an epistle was addressed "(to) the church (of the) Thessalonians" (2 Thessalonians 1:1), it was written that "the mystery (of) LAWLESSNESS is ALREADY AT-WORK" (2 Thessalonians 2:7).
There are also similarities between Matthew 24 & 2 Thessalonians 2.
